From June 29 to July 4, 2023, Professor Wang Zili and Associate Professor Feng Lingbing from our institution attended the 17th Annual Conference of the European Association for Competition and Regulation held in Rhodes, Greece. Professor Wang Zili, as a keynote speaker in Session Nine, presented a collaborative research paper with Dr. Tan Shiyu from our institution and Associate Professor Feng Lingbing titled "Economic Analysis and Stock Price: A Method of Identifying Antitrust Decision Error Cost." Professor Eduardo Pontual Ribeiro from the Institute of Economic Research at the University of Rio de Janeiro, a prominent international scholar in the field of competition and regulation, provided feedback on the paper. He offered numerous suggestions for improvement in logical reasoning, theoretical models, and empirical analysis. Following the conference, Professor Wang Zili and Associate Professor Feng Lingbing engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Eduardo Pontual Ribeiro, exploring the feasibility of the proposed methodology in collaborative research on antitrust practices in other countries.


Associate Professor Feng Lingbing was invited to serve as the discussant for Session Fifteen, providing feedback on the paper titled "Economic Analysis Methodologies Applied in Merger Investigations in the EU and China: Comparative Case Studies." He offered constructive suggestions for improvement and engaged in in-depth discussions with the presenter regarding the international comparative research on economic analysis methods in merger investigations in the European Union and China.

 During the conference, Professor Wang Zili and Associate Professor Feng Lingbing engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions with numerous internationally renowned scholars and colleagues.


 The Competition and Regulation European Summer School (CRESSE) was established in 2005, comprising renowned international scholars and professionals in the fields of competition policy and regulation. It has evolved into a prominent academic, policy, and consultancy network with a global reach. CRESSE's Scientific Committee and Advisory Board have consistently shown interest in competition policy and industry regulation, actively participating in advisory services and legal practices related to competition and regulation policies in various European countries.

The CRESSE Annual Conference stands as a premier global academic event in the field of competition and regulation research, having successfully organized seventeen editions. The theme of this year's conference was "Advances in the Analysis of Competition Policy and Regulation," featuring keynote speeches, 15 parallel sessions, and 8 special discussion sessions. Distinguished speakers for the keynote addresses included Professor Jan De Loecker from KU Leuven in Belgium, Professor Leslie Marx from Duke University in the United States, and Professor Richard Whish from King's College London.

In addition to the main conference, the event hosted a summer school, advanced courses, and lawyer courses. More than 300 representatives from over dozens of countries participated in this comprehensive annual gathering.
